Some of you will already know me as a Massage Therapist and Medical Herbalist at The Honor Oak Wellness Rooms. I’ve been a natural health practitioner for more than 15 years and over time my areas of interest have become women’s hormonal health, mental wellbeing and digestive health. The three are very closely interlinked and also affect other body systems like immune function and cardiovascular health. Which is why it’s so important to look at the person as a whole rather than just their symptoms.
Last year I completed a 3 year diploma course in Naturopathic Nutrition at The College Of Naturopathic Medicine and I am now combining nutrition and herbal medicine for a truly integrated approach to health.
What is Naturopathic Nutrition?
Naturopathic Nutrition is a holistic therapy which can treat a wide range of health problems with the use of whole and organic foods together with appropriate supplements and natural therapies.
Treating people, not symptoms: each person is treated very much as an individual and each therapy programme is tailored to meet the needs of the individual rather than a set of symptoms.
The root cause of a problem is identified and then diet is used therapeutically to reverse the course of disease and thus bring the body back into balance and good health.
What does this mean?
After a thorough initial consultation where we discuss your medical history, goals, circumstances etc we come up with a tailor-made protocol for you. Some may only require a few simple dietary tweaks, for others a more comprehensive change of diet may be needed, possibly with the addition of a herbal prescription, further testing and/or nutritional supplements. Some may benefit from a specialised massage as well.
